SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction of the school district’s Director of Maintenance & Operations the facility use coordinator is responsible for coordinating all community use of district facilities, athletic fields including Harry Lange Stadium and 2 swimming pools. Responsibilities of this position include supervising and evaluating swimming pool specialist(s), life guards, and swim instructors, planning and coordinating programs, and monitoring the effectiveness and needs of the facility use program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Plans, develops, coordinates, and implements recreation programs and activities to meet the needs and interests of the community, including such groups as preschoolers, youth, adults and persons with disabilities. 2. Communicates with the Clover Park School District staff and other outside agencies to coordinate scheduling, facility use and related program arrangements. 3. Organizes and administers a series of regularly scheduled, on-going activities utilizing school playgrounds, parks, beaches, swimming pools, gymnasiums, tennis courts and other recreational facilities during non-school hours and school vacation periods. 4. Prepares and maintains records and reports related to program implementation and operation, including attendance, facility use, expenditures, etc. 5. Monitors and evaluates attendance of aquatic instructional classes and programs; recommends and implements changes. 6. Supervises assigned recreation, aquatic staff and volunteers; develops staff schedules and maintains; recommends the hiring of staff, evaluates pool specialist, and recommends other personnel actions as appropriate. 7. Pursue additional funding resources for programs through grant applications, solicitation of donations and other fund-raising activities. 8. Work with district purchasing department to purchase or obtain equipment and supplies for programs and classes. 9. Conducts training and informational meetings with recreation to communicate policies, procedures, rules and regulations. 10. Works with Director of Community Relations to develop and produce marketing tools such as brochures and fliers; prepares daily, weekly and seasonal schedules of events and activities. 11. Responds to public inquiries for program and aquatic instructional class information. 12. Develops effective working relationships with local clubs, groups and the public. 13. Assists in budget preparation and administers program budgets for pool and facilities use. 14. Work with Director of Maintenance & Operations to identify field and recreation needs for facility use and work to develop maintenance scheduling. 15. Schedules school facilities for district and community use. Assigns fee schedules and appropriate personnel for activities. 16. Respond to public queries by phone, email and in person for non-district and some district uses. Must be able to verify availability of site as well as compatibility with district policy. 17. Develop contracts and required insurance information for groups desiring use. 18. Coordinates regular facility inspections with local authorities and coordinates with Maintenance and Operations for any required actions. 19. Maintains complete equipment inventory, conducts annual or semi-annual inspections of equipment, maintains records of all life safety equipment. 20. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is responsible for responding 24/7 to calls related to swimming pool and recreation needs. The essential functions listed above are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. The position may perform a variety of non-essential functions consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience 1. A BA or BS in Recreation, Business or a related field AND two (2) years experience in developing and implementing recreation programs preferred. Two years of qualifying work experience may substitute for every one year of the education requirement up to a maximum of two years.

Certification and Licenses 1. First Aid and CPR card within 90 days from date of hire. 2. Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. May be exposed to inclement weather. Some travel to and between school sites and community recreational facilities is necessary with the need to possibly transport children and/or parents. Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, sit, stand, crouch, and reach. Moderate lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Pushing or pulling, throwing objects to demonstrate/participate in activities. Reaching overhead and horizontally. Dexterity of fingers and hands to operate sports equipment and a computer keyboard.
